Want the free crochet pattern for this simple Sunburst Granny Square with a twist? Read on!
The inspiration for this No Puff Sunburst granny square came from a new summer design that I have been working on. I needed a square that was light and airy and the original sunburst granny square was just a little bulky. It was the ‘puff stitch’ in the 2nd round that was causing me a problem so I thought I would replace it with one double crochet (UK Treble) and the result was perfect.
I have made it in a bunch of funky yarns and different sized hooks and if I don’t say so myself, works up a dream every time! It has a bit of boho look to it – which is perfect for my new design.. Post coming very soon! You could make a whole bunch to make an Afghan or combine them with other classic granny square patterns to make a textured afghan. Ready to make one? I’ve added the pattern and photo’s to help you along but if you know how to crochet a normal Sunburst Granny square it’s pretty much the same.
