This pom pom beanie is 2 of my favourite things when it comes to crochet – quick and easy! Give me anything that I can make in one evening that doesn’t require too much thinking!
So here’s the super quick pattern for a super quick make!
You will need : –
1 Skein Caron Simply Soft in Soft Pink
5mm hook
Scissors
Darning needle
9cm pom pom maker
Tension
4″x4″ = 16st over 4 rows
Abbr
Ch = Chain
St = Stitch
Dcblo = Double crochet in the back loop / UK Treble Crochet in back loop
Fo = Fasten Off
Method : –
With Soft Pink and 5 mm hook ch 45
Row 1. 1 dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch along (42)
Row 2. Ch 3 (counts as 1st st here and throughout) 1 dcblo in each dc across (42) turn
Repeat row 2 until piece fits around your head! The circumference of my head measures 21″ so to make the hat fit snuggly I crocheted for 17″ which was 32 rows.
FO and weave in ends.
Fold in half so the ribbing is vertical and whip stitch the sides together

Make a running stitch in the top of the hat and pull tightly to close. I did mine in a different colour so you can see.
Fold the bottom up
Make a Pom Pom and attach it to the top.
Not only is your beanie quick and easy to make it also comes in at well under a fiver! I paid £5 for my Caron Simple Soft yarn and had loads left to make something else. Bargain!

The pic above shows how much yarn I had left after making my beanie. I reckon you could even make 2..
Before I leave I thought I would mention that in the next coming weeks I will be posting a CAL Stitchionary blanket. Intrigued? Subscribe and stick around for the 1st part coming in the new year
