Cotton Tail Sweater Crochet Pattern

Easy peasy beginner friendly crochet pattern for the Cotton Tail Sweater

Its officially Autumn, which means I can start whipping out those chunkier yarns and hooking some warm, fluffy, snuggly gorgeousness! And today is no exception as I bring you the Cotton Tail Sweater, which also happens to be my very 1st paid for pattern! I’m super excited to launch my Etsy shop – something that I have been thinking about for a very long time and I hope you can find the time to pop on over there and check it out!

. The whole sweater is made up with my favourite stitch –  the Suzette stitch which is a 1 row pattern repeat with no fiddly increasing or decreasing and why I have catergorised this sweater as an easy peasy make! It’s totally beginner friendly and very easily customed which is detailed in the pattern.

The yarn I used is probably the softest, fluffiest yarn I’ve ever used and I rate its squidge factor a massive 10/10. Its actually made with 28% wood pulp which I was quite surprised about. Peter Pan Petite Fleur DK is a lightly brushed yarn that is kitten soft and comes in beautiful soft baby pastel shades. You can get your mitts on some by clicking on the link provided below. The outcome of the jumper would be very different if lightly brushed yarn wasn’t used so some good alternatives I would recommend are  Rico Essentials Super Kid Mohair Loves Silk or Willow & Lark Plume

When I started swatching for this project I used a 4mm hook which is the hook recommended for this yarn. Buuuuut I found the suzette stitch to be very tight and I wanted lots of drape (something that I didn’t achieve – the jumper is quite thick!) so I swatched right up to an 8mm hook. I chose the 7mm as you could still see the stitch definition and the ‘drape’ was perfect.

Paired with ripped jeans and a pair of converse I have my staple Autum look and I couldn’t be happier with my new jumper and I hope you like the pattern too! I’ve worked extra extra hard to cater for everyone and in the easily printable pdf version you can find sizes XS-5XL.
